Post your battle stations!

I have the same desk, it can be a complete bitch at times

I use extended desktop. The left 27" monitor is set as monitor 2, and the 34" monitor is set as the primary (monitor 1).
If that is what you are asking about…

He’s talking about the wallpaper not being spanned across.

Well its been a while since I last joined in lol. Well due to the Windows 10/11 OS getting worse by the day, for the first time I moved exclusively to Linux (Mint).

PC Build

| Ryzen-7 9700X (8 core, 16 thread) | MSI PRO B650M-A WIFI (one’s broken unfortunately and couldnt be returned because of ONE broken pin… ) | Kingston Fury RGB DDR5 32GB (2x16GB) 6000MTS CL30 | Gigabyte RTX 3060 12GB | Peerless Assassin 120 Black | Samsung 990 PRO 2TB 4.0 NVME | Samsung 870 EVO 2TB SSD | Arctic MX-6 Thermal Compound |

Peripherals

| GMMK TKL keyboard with Kaihl Box Whites and two PBT keycap sets | Logitech G900 gaming mouse | SMSL M6 DAC/AMP | Kiwi Ears Serene headphones (with ZReviews additions [Youtube reviewer]) | Elgato Wave 3 Microphone | Gamesir Kaleid wired Xbox Series controller | PS5 controller | Glorious GMP 2 mousepad | LG Ultrawide… I forgot the name lol (3440p x 1440p) [won it from Hardware Canucks through a promotion 10 years ago!] | Monitor Stand with 2 side drawers/4 usb ports/1 wireless phone charger |

It’s been over a month since I got Linux Mint but other than the few oddities it’s been really good!

Lol

I will do a build log for the node 304 (it will be openmediavault n150-based), next to it is my gaming pc (win11, r5 7600, 32gb ram, rx6600 8gb in jonsbo d32 pro mesh) , and beside that my workstation (rocky enterprise linux 10, r9 5900x, 64gb ram, rtx 3060 12gb, rx 550 2gb in bequiet! pure base 600)

Not pictured is the faithful old gk61 that I attach and use with my logi g305 to game on the main monitor. It is a cheapo Acer 1080p 120hz IPS with generic Feesync. I connected a vga to hdmi adapter to a 3 port hdmi switcher (since 1080p60 is fine for my workstation stuff) so that I can use the vga port to switch between the workstation, one of (asus m415da or t480) or a third workbench connection. The native hdmi port on the monitor is reserved for the gaming pc.

I was unsure about linking adapters like that but it works fine. In fact Rocky gives me the option to go to some weird refresh rate like 7x.xxHz but I suspect this would cause issues. There is some kind of active chip in both the hdmi->vga and hdmi switcher adapters. Obviously, there is no Freesync with my jerry rigged connections from the hdmi switcher, but who cares for programming? I don’t know that it’s well supported on Linux anyway.
