Possible virus or HDD problem

Hello. My HDD is showing 90% of the time 100% usage (as of the blue is allways on). My games get just a few fps under the avearge I was getting when first installed windows, so it doesn't really affect me. The only problem I get now and then is that the screen & sound loops for 0.3 seconds now and then, making a strange robotic sound then getting back to normal. I've tryed bitdefender 2013 which found a virus in my windows directory and deleted it. For a few days it really was gone, but now it came back. Can anyone reccomend a good antivirus or suggest what other problem may be that is causing this ? I don't surf random porn sites or look after keygens and stuff and I didn't had a antivirus installed untill a few days ago. Thanks

Try http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/products/security-essentials

it has worked for me for a long time. Its not the best but it was better than most free AV out there.

You might also want to try the malwarebytes trial.

AV-Comparatives do some good benchmarking for anti-virus software. There are various PDF's which show data from testing in real world environments, file detection tests, and performance tests. Awards are given to the software that scores highly on each individual test.

So looking at that, just pick any of the software packages that appear in all 3 of those lists. For example; BitDefender, Kaspersky, and F-Secure. These software packs have been rated highly in each test so personally, that's what I'd go with. Obviously I'd recommend looking at the data in more detail to see which of those 3 uses the least system resources or whatever. Hope that helps.

Mbam Combofix MSE If you have a virus, all these tools will get them all. Hands down.

Thank you all for helping me. I tryed a few of them and the results were (in the following order):

Bitdefender - 7 viruses

Kaspersky - 13 viruses

Avast - Didn't get anything

Avg - 3 viruses

Security-essentials - 5 viruses

Spyware Doctor- 170 + the one that was bothering me

I don't seem to understand how a rather unknown program got so many viruses after so many other big AVs didn't get more than 15 each. It seems the Big one was a MySql injection for hacking webs. If anyone cares, the ip attacking me is 61.185.238.233, well known for other hack attempts coming from china.

Again, Thank you all
