Possible to disable windows or asus wireless utility?

I have the Asus pce ac66 wireless adapter. When I install the drivers it forces me to install the Asus wireless utility. Now this is all fine and dandy but the Asus utility opens on start up and runs and the same time as the windows utility and they conflict with each other and sometimes cause problems. The asus utility is not in msconfig and has no options to disable on start up. I have re installed, deleted the Asus registry entries (which did nothing), and I disabled the windows WLAN utility in services and that just rendered the wireless adapter useless.

All I want to do is disable the Asus utility on startup OR disable the windows utility. I just want one or the other not both. Is this possible? Asus and Windows support were no help at all. The Asus support team told me to disable it in msconfig (which the asus utility is not listed in) or uninstall the utility rendering the hardware useless (because it also uninstalls the drivers).

Have you checked your "Startup" folder under Start > All Programs? Just delete the Asus Utility if it's there.
If there's no "Startup" folder there, "Run" shell:startup or check...

C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Window s\Start Menu\Programs\Startup

Also try "Task Scheduler" > "Task Scheduler Library" and see if there is a task set to run the utility on startup, login or something like that.

Thank you so much. It was in the task scheduler and I got it all figured out. I have never heard of the task scheduler before so thanks a lot. I'm surprised the goof at the Asus support team didn't know about that, he ended up telling me it was impossible. Ahahaha. You saved me a lot of trouble my friend.

Easiest way:

Type in run: msconfig -> go to startup -> uncheck

The more you know!

The asus utility is not in msconfig and has no options to disable on start up.
