Hey,
So my friends rig has a problem with screen tearing on his rig.
Everything is tearing! Not just while gaming but just general video playback as well i.e netflix etc
We recently put an Asus 970 Strix in the system after a clean install and replaced his monitor with a new Benq GW2760.
We have tried turning on and off all the VSync options in the Nvidia control panel and swapping output from HDMI to DVI. Tried swapping to a different monitor and the issue is still present.
Tomorrow i will be uninstalling the 970 and one of my 680's in to see if the problem persists but in the meantime i was wondering if anyone has any suggestions?
Any help would be appreciated as always.

Gigabyte 970A-UD3P
Crucial Ballistix 8GB
Asus 970 Strix
Corsair 750M
Sandisk Ultra Plus 120GB SSD
I can't really comment on your strix 970 but I can say that I haven't had any problems out of mine. I have ran both independently to make sure they were both working properly and I didn't notice anything. Together I haven't noticed any predominate screen taring. Then again I have a crappy ASUS 278H monitor.. So maybe I am missing it due to the quality of monitor I have.
*edit*
did you do a clean driver install? It seems you went from Nvidia to another Nvidia but sometimes between architecture there is always a chance of something weird happening. I had this issue with my GTS 250 and 660. Even though the drivers where up to date there the 660 was acting up and the screen was going black every once and a while. So really I don't have any helpful input sorry.
no worries bro, im going to get stuck into it today see if i can get it fixed for him.
thanks for your feedback
start troubleshooting man. first i would try a different monitor and see how it does. if that doesnt help switch out the video card and see how things go.
