I'm looking for portable speakers so that I can listen to some metal in the park with my friends. Bluetooth would be a very nice feature, but it isn't a must. Budget is under 100€. Size does not really matter as long as I can carry the speakers in my backpack.

I built one of those, budget is about 500~
Altho, its the most insane portable speaker you will ever find, depending on the amp, I got the big one, I can play for approximatley 24h, on max volume, with two batteries, but with the smaller amp, I recon 2-3 days.
Insane and LOUD!
how "portable"?
i made a 1400 watt boom box, you could carry it on your back, weighed about 50 lbs or so.... wore it arorund school. 5 speakers and a 12" subwolfer.... had a detatchable battery and you could attach a power supply to power it from the wall.
The bass relfex holes are also for carrying, one person can carry it, altho its somewhat heavy to carry for a longer period of time, I have carried it on my shoulder.
Two ppl can carry it pretty much indefinetly, if you swap hands. If you get some trolley or something, its verry portable, because its so insanley loud!
As for the amp, the one I currently use is about 2x50w, but its to powerful, it consumes to much power, I'm going to get an amp that only uses 2x25w, and with no obvious drop in performance, because of the way the box is built.
The 10" speakers are only midrange, and do not drop below 100hz~ because real bass uses to much energy, and in a wide open space, its impossible to fill with any real bass eitherway, so having a car bass speaker, in an open space on a portable device is stupid, because it would smoke out the batteries.
Just look at yours 1400watt, mine is 2x50w, and going to be 2x25w only!
It weights about 25kg~ 55~ pounds.
so they weigh the same, mine is in a backpack form so its easyer to carry... and with a battery... it lasts about 3 days on one charge. not to mention that if you are taking it somewhere where there is a power outlet it drops to about 30 lbs.
has a frequency range of 25hz to 23,000khz. with a fairly flat responce. not to mention that mine is using a sealed enclosure so the bass responce is a bit better.
um, and i sort of gettohed mine togeather in 4 hours.... the power switch is a 90 cent switch from walmart for instance... lol (radioshack was not open at midnight)
oh and a quick edit: you can very easily fill a large area with bass.... probubly not with anything short of 100 watts rms. but yeah... the subwolfer i have is at 200 watts rms 600 watts peak, and it managed to fill a cafiteria that holds about 600 students with bass.... and as i said, sealed enclosure (thats actualy the wrong size for the subwolfer).
$20 Portable Ihome I just got one the sound quality is amazing and it's very loud!
