Hey everyone! Recently I bought this: http://www.futureshop.ca/en-CA/product/kingston-technology-kingston-120gb-solid-state-drive-kit-sv300s3b7a-120g-sv300s3b7a-120g/10233726.aspx?path=71b11a814b21d59ff7c634d3a321a124en02
For the SSD and the portable HDD enclosure. My only problem is that the HDD enclosure doesn't seem to work. I put a HDD in it, and none of my computers can detect it, but it does get powered on. I've tried computers using Linux and Windows 7 and 8. None detect it. Is there something I'm suppose to do to the HDD to get it to work?
Is the disk appearing in disk management or diskpart (windows) or within /dev/ (linux)
If its inside the portable HDD enclosure and I plug it into my computer, the disk doesn't appear in disk management but if I remove the HDD from the enclosure and plug it into my computer using a sata connection the HDD works and is recognized and I can read/write to it.
Sounds like the caddy is broken unless it requires a specific driver.
Does it appear under device manager at all?
Sorry for not answering for so long. I've been busy with school and such.
It doesn't appear in device manager. I thought I might have to do something to the HDD, but im not sure.
