i am awaiting Pascal and Polaris and at the moment it seems like i will get the 1070 because it has this amazing lens correction that will complensate the distortion when using 3 screens like i do.
I searched the internet about information about polaris but i wasn't able to find much, especially about this certain topic.
Do you guys know or could guess if polaris will have something similar?
I would imagine it will have something along those lines, seeing as the lens correction doesn't look like something that would be done through hardware. If not immediately, Polaris/Vega will almost certainly have it down the road.
Expect the Polaris flagship to be somewhere in between the 390X and the Fury, btw. AMD is not shooting for the top at the moment. They're shooting for the mid-tier market, where all the sales actually happen.
Remember when Nvidia announced Gsync? Now we have freesync. Remember when Nvidia announced DSR? Or did they announced VSR? No matter... AMD responded with the other one... My guess is the same as @KemoKa73, if not on release, couple months down the line... Also one thing nobody seems to care about... AMD's multimonitor implementation is way better than Nvidia's. AMD's multiGPU implementation is way better than Nvidia's. AMD's variable refresh rate is way cheaper than Nvidia's. There is 120$ freesync monitors with IPS and 75Hz... I will get my smoother gameplay any day over better looking peripheral vision...
Well, i thought it too, but hoped someone could have some detailed infos about that. The Distortion Correction would be the only point in buying the 1070 or even 1080. I think i will buy a cheap polaris (or 1070 if that price drops enough) and get mad with Vega next year. ATM i am running with a HD 7870 and it getting way too powerless for me.
The Power consumption seems to be amazing but it's like nobody cares... Unfortunately there is no such hype like with the gtx 1080...
Seems silly not too go out with the flagship GPU and as a result I will be getting the 1070 or 1080, SUrely everyone wants to see the best and then realise they cant afford it and get the mid range. Seems underwhelming saying "hello everyone here is our affordable NEW GPU".
Oh... I'm not into VR and was hoping that it will work with all games. I mean: How hard could it be to stretch an image so it is not distorted? Its just matrix multiplications afaik... (Yes, that need computation i know but i don't care. I just want to play without the distortion with 3 screens).
Probably a good deal more complicated than that. Also the bonus of AMD is free-sync being a lot cheap than G-sync unless you already have your displays
Well... I got 3 LG screens and a good 3 way vesa mount for them so i won't switch them in the nearest future... Also i don't have the space for moer screens. I am fine with it.
60 - no... 40-75 - HUGE... Basically, you can watch any review video of Gsync and keep in mind freesync is doing the same without extra hardware in the monitor.
