Polaris memory timings OCing under linux

On Windows i found that using level 1 or level 2 timings greatly helps performance, does anyone know how i can do this on linux? i found a tool that lets me change timings, but i have to have lightdm closed for it to not crash and then i would need the GPU under load to apply it not apply it to idle loads
i figured i would just find the auto memory strap in the vbios and swap it for the one i get using level 1/2 timings, but the default strap is not in the vbios
i was using AMD.Memory.Tweak.XL to get the current memory strap

Is there a way I can use tighter gpu memory timings under linux on my Rx 580?
