Really like it when you find weird stuff like this and go over it.

Amazing about the RAM but makes sense as it cuts costs if they can slap anything in.

Miss Hygon is the best name for a PC.

We need MOAR!

The statement that every type of DDR4 memory runs on the Chinese Zen-based system makes you wonder if you could mod the BIOS of of a AM4 or TR4 motherboard with ECC traces to also accept (L)RDIMMs. Even 32 GB RDIMMs are much easier to obtain than 32 GB UDIMMs…

Genuinely surprised. I have some hynix kits that just don’t work on zen1. 2133 paper thin PCB. Works fine in Chinese zen.

It must be some kind of intellectual property that’s missing in non Chinese zen for handling ram .

Even horrible 1st Gen 1866 ddr4 reg ecc worked fine

wrt. “RDSEED and RDRAND Control” settings in the BIOS.
Anyone know the default behavior when disabled, zero’d out data?

Also just finished, going down the rabbit hole on alternate sources of PRNG,
may save time if you interested.
