Please Help Me!

Hi! I need some help for my first PC build. I want to make absolute sure that my list is all compatible with everything. For my GPU I am going wait for the RX 480 to come out.

CPU
Intel Core i5-4460 3.2GHz Quad-Core Processor

CPU Cooler
Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler

Motherboard
MSI Z97 PC MATE ATX LGA1150 Motherboard

Memory
Kingston HyperX Fury Black 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1866 Memory
EDIT: Corsair Force LE 240GB 2.5" Solid State Drive

Storage
Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive

Case
Corsair 200R ATX Mid Tower Case

Power Supply
Corsair CXM 650W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Pow

Looks like all the parts are compatible you can also use pcpartspicker as well to check they do a pretty good job of showing a compatibility issue for a system.

Thanks! Anything I should be aware of before I go ahead and pull the trigger?

non k cpu and a k motherboard could save yourself a few dollars

Your list is absolutely compatible...
However...
You can go for the newer generation i5 and a newer generation motherboard with similar features. The price difference will be minimal.
Also, you may want to get yourself an SSD... At least for the OS... Something like A-Data SP 550 120GB for $35...
And my final complaint is, that you can find yourself a better PC case. This 200R have so much issues... Bad airflow, bad dust filtering...
Those are my personal thoughts however. In general the newer generation motherboard will allow you some upgradability path down the line and some extra expandability options... The SSD will just make the entire system way more snappier and faster in general. 15sec windows boot is one thing, 5 minutes with mechanical hard drive is quite another. And the case is personal gripe with Corsair... I think every case corsair makes have way better alternatives for lower price.

Thanks for the tips! And how do you think that the RX 480 will preform?

We can't be sure, because all we have is pretty much speculation at this point, but the reviews will start popping up in about 10 days. Just hold on for 10 days. From the leaks the reference 480 will perform somewhere in 5% of GTX 980, but this is syntetic benchmarks first and reference design second and most importantly SPECULATION.
I would say just hold on extra 10 days, see how 480 stacks up, and if it does not perform as expected, you can always still buy 980.

Ok.

Probably like a graphics card. .....

OK, that was cheap.

The system looks ok so far but maybe you could get better advice what to look out for if you'd tell us what the purpose of the machine is. Is it strictly for gaming?

And one more thing: Get an SSD! Please.

I saw the SSD prices and almost died. My rig is mainly for gaming, and maybe the occasional google search :)

Why? A 240GB Crucial is what, like 60,- bucks?

240 GBs for me is not a lot of storage, especially for gaming. And can you use an SSD in conjunction with a HDD.

Sure. Put games on the hdd, thats fine. But put the system, browser, office... programs, that kind of thing on the SSD. And thank me later.

Ok lol.

Will the Cooler Master SickleFlow 69.7 CFM 120mm Fan work with the Corsair 200R ATX Mid Tower Case? Planning on getting 2 extra fans, is that necessary?

Extra case fans are not really necessary what I would personally do is save the money on the case fans and buy a better case.
Like one of these wouldn’t be a bad upgrade.

Maybe 1 extra just in case (no pun intended)

as for cpu cooler i kind of would go for a bequiet pure rock instead of the cm hyper 212, but depending on pricing where you are the 212 might be cheaper and it's a good cooler...just that the pure rock looks nicer in my opinion.

same for the case, it's a good budget case, but for a similar price you can get one that looks nicer and has better sound dampening, i feel the 200r is still ovepriced for such a bare and basic case.

as for fans, just saying the corsair af fans are not as 'silent' as they make them out to be, once they get above 40% speed they make this annoying humming sound... i regret getting them, silent or pure wings would have been a better option for a similar price (but no led versions...yet, if you want leds)

How often do you look at your case? I mean ... really?
Personally I prefer sound dampening over looks.
Corsair has some really nice cases that can kill lots of noise.
I had the 330R and my dual xeon 2670 build is in a 400Q.
Both have excellent sound dampening.

For fans I like noctuas. Pricey but worth every penny.

I actually was going to go for a corsair case.
