I already have a gaming desktop it's amd based and I love it. I had a Toshiba laptop that served me well but my mom destroyed it. So now I'm in the market I go to school and need a laptop and I want to get a decent one that I won't have to worry about getting a new one for a long time. So here is what I'm looking for amd based if possible, budget is $1,500 but would like to spend around $1,200 I will spend the max budget if it's worth it, I'm going with a 15in display to me 17 is to big, and I want it to be for gaming but also just a bad ask computer that will allow me to do what I need for school. I haven't been able to fund anything I like so any help would be greatly appreciated thank you I love the tek syndicate family been a fan and supporter for a long time come here for the best help on the Internet.

I do like the rog asus i was looking at thise but still i would like something based of amd
Getting something AMD based will cost you performance, not to say that AMD is bad. Trust me in the laptop platform you want an Intel CPU, you might be able to get the mobile platform of the 290x though. However I'm not sure how that performs compared to the mobile Nvidia chips at the moment.
Ok i believe you i just have amd in my desktop and it made me a fan boy i love it so is alien ware over rated? Should i just go with asus rog?
I personally would personally go for the Rog this coming from the guy putting a 390x in his upcoming rig.
Where is the best place to buy from
Honestly the link from Newegg is probably your best bet.
Can you help me find an asus with a 3g graphics card i found one with 4g but it was 2000 and i think 16g of memory is overkill but ill take it just not necessary I have noticed other computer seem to have more options so im still on the fence as to what to get I just know from research the graphics card is the most important part and that where you want ti spend most of your money I dont know much about laptop graphics card all my knowledge is desktop so i dont kniw whats good enough but i know 3g is better than 2g please help i have 3 weeks to pick what i want before school starts
Also can you please explain if a gtx 880m with 3g of memory is better than a 960m with 2g of memory I honestly dont know

My friend got himself Asus G750 JZ, you can do research about it.
So here's what I'm looking for and can't find this is what I've decided on and I've realized that I am going to have to spend more to get what I want
Cpu: I7 2.6ghz or faster
Memory: 8g or more but no more then 16g
Graphics: 900 series or amd equivalent
Display: 15" toutch screen (4k would be awesome but not necessary)
Storage: atleast 750g hd 7200rpm or more and atleast 126g ssd or more
Price: $2000 is my max but I'd like to be at $1500
I really like the Toshiba laptops but I couldn't find one with 2 hard drives sucks
I'm looking around and I don't see anything that meets everything you want but I found one that's close. The only place it doesn't meet what you want is it's CPU is clocked at 2.5Ghz, but you get 4K. Look at it and tell me what you think, in the mean time I'll keep looking. By the way you want more than 8GB of RAM trust me it will allow for better performance anyway you go about it.

I'm not a fan of alienware I think they are like Apple over priced for the same hardware you can get in a cheaper machine.
I found this it's the closest I've come to finding what I want just not toutch screen. Tell me what you think is sager any good? I have never heard of them a sales rep told me they are built on the clevo chassis which alienware used to use before dell bought them out. I'd please help.

And I just found this one both the Cpu and get can be upgraded in the future and is customizable but once again I'll have to go without a toutch screen but I really like this one the best it's slightly bigger and 2 pounds heavier than the first one I linked but I think this is my winner so far it's a beast tell me what you think of it please I want to know more about it before I spend that much money on it

I'd recommend checking out the notebooks you fancy in a store before pulling the trigger. The build quality of most of the modern laptops is really crappy and since you plan on keeping it for a long time, I'd get something that at least seems robust.
Sadly there are no Thinkpads no more (I don't know nothing about Lenovo).
That laptop should work great for what you want & yes Xotic is a reputable dealer. If you want throw in a 4790K when you customize so you can overclock.
I was definitely planning on spending the extra 50 for the 4790k I don't over clock much but I like that I can if I want to but for almost $2000 do you think it is worth it? I mean is it really that badass of a computer? I mean I have a badass gaming desktop am I going over board? Should I just play games on my desktop and just get a $1000 Toshiba that'll handle every thing I want it to do just fine. What do you think? I'm just hesitant to spend that much money I originally planned on spending 1200 but soon realized if I want top of the line I'll have to spend more I don't know what to do now.
I always thought it was better to invest on desktops as much as possible and on laptops/mobile devices as little as possible. Not that 99% of people have no need to carry around a pc with a heavy dedicated graphics solution, but a lot of people never actually leave the house with the "desktop replacer" that they paid a premium for.
Laptops provide much less performance for your money and aren't as easily upgradable, so they tend to grow obsolete more quickly anyway. They're also subject to all sorts of hasards and accidents that desktops usually never experience. Chances of having your desktop stolen, hacked, bricked or run over by a car are comparatively quite low.
Personally, my university setup is a desktop rig at home for homework and games, with a cheap minimal netbook for classes and working on campus. The netbook freezes often when browsing sites with animated ads (they are a true plague) and opening one too many firefox tabs sometimes crashes, but it handles all the important stuff like a breeze (Word editing and reasonably-sized PDFs). It is also worth 7 times less than my desktop, weighs nothing and the battery runs forever.
Ironically, that's all very good things for a not-arts student : it literally can't handle most procrastination-fueling activities at a sufficiently enjoyable degree. Hurray for productivity.
Jokes aside, unless you spend a significant amount of your time playing intense video games in random places, a gaming laptop is never actually worth it in any way, shape, or form.
Hell, you could even buy a Titan X with that kind of money, something that nobody will ever spill cold cafeteria coffee on top of.
