Overclocking with stock cooling and turning HPC in the bios so it doesn't throttle when it's to hot, then it must burn up. You can't burn a cpu in another way, unless you pour gas or something. Cpu's throttle if their too hot or just crash before they can start to burn.
Overclocking with reckless abandon. Like Generaloz said, he would have had to turn off some settings in bios and then really push the voltage and thermal limits. I've put 1.55v through mine when I had my X60 on it, never missed a beat.
that poor cpu
all he did was play candy crush and the cpu willed it self to die
