Hi, I am running ubuntu gnome, and I have both an English and chinese keyboard, but whenever I toggle to it, the input is just still plain English and I can't type in chinese, I have tried reinstalling the packages, still can't type. Anybody have the same problem or could point me in a direction in order to solve it?

sun looks like a good recomendation, otherwise if you are in a pinch you can always use google translate
