Pi-KVM

I just watched the new Level1 video about the PiKVM, which I am very interested in, but what was not too clear was why you need an RJ45 connection in the machine you want to control?

The RJ45 that is installed into the machine is so you can control an ATX power supply using the pinouts that connect to your motherboard.

I have a piKVM that is DYI and I do not have that setup and it works great other than I cannot power on, power off or reset it through the piKVM software.

I’m mainly looking for a solution to install OS’s and get into the BIOS. For a DIY Pi-KVM it seems all I would need for that is the USBC splitter and HDMI adaptor
