Also silicon+gold is very pretty

I am going to ignore Peppy.

hehehe yep, its double purpose for me, I got to have the ring catch light in the eyes and used it for macro shots =]

LOL that song

nice, finally got it to work lol thanks!

Just curious, how many of you shoot in RAW format? A lot of my friends here still shoot in JPEG (cos of the lower file size me thinks) even if there are benefits in post process using RAW.

And what do you use for post process, if ever?

I use Adobe Lightroom 5 and if I see it fit, I edit in Nik Software's various programs (Color Efex Pro 4, Silver Efex Pro 2, etc) or in Photoshop. But mainly Lightroom...

If I'm shooting a picture of the hell of it I shoot in jpg.

But anything else is .NEF (nikon raw)

RAW does take up alot more space. on my D3200 each raw takes up about 22MB

Advantages? HELL YES. jpg is a compressed smaller format that basically turns the files into strict 1's and 0's just to record what the file is

RAW record all sort of extra data (not necesairily camera metadata (jpg does that too) But exposure ratings, and allows for better manipulation of dynamic range, color depth, lighting sensitivity.

File size isn't too much of an issue if you have a big card. Which are fairly cheap these days anyways. My 16GB micro SD card costed $14 and last for about 720pictures, or about the size of my battery.

Yep, that's exactly what I tell my friends but they never joined me in in shooting RAW.

Then they always ask me why are my post processes are better than theirs lol

Oh well, in time they will join the RAW family

I also use lightroom for all lighting effects and color corrections. Otherwise I use regular photoshop to do everything else like photomerge, faceswap and other filters

I only use RAW.  I also try to compose my shots correctly with whitebalance and whatnot. I don't edit anything but exposure in post, and that's in lightroom.

Then I have lightroom set to import all my photos to my BOX folder, and it syncs with my other PCs, then my exports automatically sync to my Google+.
