Photo and Video Editing 5820k or 6700k setup

So I've been working from a laptop for a while now and I'm so done with it. I've been saving up and Im ready to build my first PC.
I do a lot of photo editing in Photoshop and Illustrator. Occasional video editing in Premiere Pro and Sony Vegas Pro 13(some After Effects).
From what I read 6700k is good with Photoshop, and 5820k is good for video editing. I chose these two processors because they are newer. So I need help in choosing which is best for me. My Budget is $2,500- $3,000.

These are my two setups...

i7-6700k: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/t9wQFT

(I'm a new user and only allowed to post 2 links, sorry.)

I do a lot of video editing and some Photoshop and the 5820k is best for that I run a 5930k and its been well worth the cost. Also you will want to go for a bigger power supply 750W for a bit more headroom the future.

You know you could get 2 4k displays for that price right these are IPS and have Free-sync as well? Dunno if you want 100% adobe RBG though, course 32"+ would be better for scaling

and a 390 is going to be faster overall for gaming compared to a 970

with that kind of budget i would go the x99 platform and have future plans to upgrade. however, i'd cut the monitors for something a little cheeper and upgrade to a 980 or better. overall you would have more benefit to go x99 mainly because skylake will soon be on x99

here's my rendition of your build with a few more tweek's

Thanks I'll be going with the 5820k then. I was initially going for 750W and was told it was overkill lol but i am more comfortable going with a 750W psu.

Thank you I have decided to get that one monitor for now, and save up more to upgrade to a 4k 32"

I did not know that thanks, I'll be sticking to the x99 platform

If you like to do allot of phote and video editing, then i would also recommend X99 yes.

The 6700K will be better at gaming no doubt about that.
But with a semi highend gpu like a GTX970, there wont be that much of a diffrence.
wenn both chips clocked at the similar clockspeeds.
With a higherend gpu like a 980Ti or TitanX for example, you might see a bigger diffrence in certain games.
The 6700K is simply the best cpu for gaming on the market right now.

But the 5820K with 2 more cores 4 threads, will simply do better wenn it comes to productivity workloads.
Allthough the 6700K wont be bad either at it.
