Basically I just want to know what the difference is in games and if its worth the extra £15 (i live in the uk)
most games only take advantage of x4 cores, with the exception of a few being battlefield 3 and maybe one or two others. that being said the 965 will have a little more advantage over the 1050t because of it's slightly higher core speed. the 1050t is a locked multiplier cpu making it a bit more complicated to overclock, but still able to push 3.6ghz-3.8ghz on good cooling. The 965 be can be overclocked by simply using the multiplier, and voltage bumps. I think the 965 has better overclocking potential because of this. Now, if you're doing something like video editing, photoshop or something multi threaded. Then you may see some increased performance over the 965.
The amd phenom II x4 965 BE is better for gaming, and cheaper. shop sales when it comes to the 965 be because i just picked one up for $85 US which is $15 less than the standard price. Maybe even get a 955 if the price is right, both overclock quite nicely. the 965 may have better o/c potential, but it comes down to who got the shortest straw.
hope this helps :)
if you can afford the 1150T, get the FX-6300 which will outperform either phenom II
