I bought a Phenom II x4 965 for my new-ish build. I don't plan to OC much, only up to 3.6 at most, if I need to. How would the stock cooler do? Is it really super loud like I've see on the reviews on Newegg? I'm okay with some noise, complete silence is unreasonable, but I don't want it to drown out my speakers or headphones. I usually have music playing anyway.
I wouldn't risk it, stock coolers are generally loud, obnoxious and bad at their job, pick up a $20-$30 aftermarket cooler and you should be fine.
should be fine but I would recommend getting a coolermaster tx3 cooler and oc to 4ghz
