PGP Key forgot passphrase

Hi,

So a while ago I created a pgp email key pair and well I forgot my passphrase.

To make matters worse I forgot to generate a revocation certificate, but did upload my key to a keyserver. (I am not a smart person)

So now I am almost certain that there is nothing left I can do.

Any ideas?

So I would just generate a new keypair, this time directly generating a revocation certificate(backing it up somewhere) and write the password down somewhere on paper, and upload the new public key to a keyserver.
(The old public key will stay online as an eternal reminder of how not to do it)

just make a new one. the old one will expire naturally as long as you didn’t set it to be permanent

I did set it to permanent. I am an idiot.

yeah just make a new one and tell all your contacts the double redundant array that hosted your super secret revocation cert perished in a datacenter fire.
