PFSense wireless configuration

I just upgraded an old dell with a dual core cpu(pentium d), 2gb ram, a 4 port ethernet switch, and a tp link n900 wireless pci express adapter. I got everything set up except wlan. I tried following the old tutorial from 2012. No luck with the wlan configuration. I see the wireless network and I can attempt to connect to it but the ip address configuration fails. I'm new at this and I'm not sure what exactly this issue is and I can't seem to find anything on this particular issue anywhere on the internet. I'm sure I made a simple mistake that is easy to rectify. I haven't tried updating the computer's bios yet. And I wonder if its an issue with my choice of wireless network adapter. Any help/insight is deeply appreciated. I just got into networking. I'm doing this for a business to speed up their connection to printers, network drives, and the internet. They have 14 computers, 3 network drives, and 4 network printers connected to a gazillion ethernet switches which are in turn connected to a basic TWC router. Yuck. Again, any insight/help is deeply appreciated.

There are a couple of things you can try (if you haven't already). The easiest thing to do would be to create a bridge interface from the ethernet interface you're currently using for LAN and the wireless interface. You'd then set the bridge interface as your new LAN interface. This way both your wired and wireless devices are on the LAN network.

Otherwise, if you want to keep wired and wireless on separate networks make sure you have enabled and configured DHCP on the wireless interface and you have created firewall rules (at least an allow any to any rule) on the wireless interface. If you do that it should work.

It's somewhat of a long read but I go over setting up wireless (and a bunch of other stuff) in this thread, you might find it helpful

Thanks so much for the response. I'll try bridging the lan and wireless interfaces and get back to you on this. There should be an updated video on this...But the good news is there is always going to be an expert on these things on this forum. Thanks again.
