I loved the pfSense video. Can you go a step further and show how to setup it up so all my outgoing (whole house) traffic goes through my "Private Internet Access" VPN service? And is there a why to tell it to drop all outgoing Internet traffic if the VPN goes down?

You should follow the guide that PIA have for setting it up on pfsense.
And yes, you can set it so it will only send internet traffic over the VPN. The simplest way to do it would be to set all your internet bound firewall rules to use the VPN gateway and then check the 'skip rules when gateway is down' box in the system>advanced>miscellaneous menu.
