Pfsense port forwarding problem

Hello thanks in advance,

So I've tried to set up pfsense to port forward to HTTP and HTTPS ports using this tutorial https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1LM6PdwSAaY

I'm finding from http://canyouseeme.org/ however that "Error: I could not see your service on 51.9.205.72 on port (80)
Reason: Connection timed out" however.

How do I solve this?

J

You could try forwarding to a different port encase your ISP is blocking 80/443?

Also, I assume you've tested that you can access the webserver locally?

So many of the tutorials just go over the port forward section and not the settings, advanced then enabling nat 1:1, true nat etc. I had to follow the below link and reboot the box to get forwarding working for my application. I'm thinking of doing the split DNS later.
https://doc.pfsense.org/index.php/Why_can%27t_I_access_forwarded_ports_on_my_WAN_IP_from_my_LAN/OPTx_networks

I can access the webserver locally and I was able to access my webserver from outside my network before I upgraded to pfsense.

Thanks, J

I'll follow this through and see if it works.

Cheers, J

Mark just put out another one of his great pfSense videos!

I found the problem. My Pfsense settings were fine but I had double NAT because NAT isn't automatically turned off when you set the TP-Link TD-W9970 to modem mode.

I sorted it by just opening the ports on my modem to my Pfsense router.
