Hello all. I’m looking to build a personal server. I’m definitely going to use bhyve/FreeBSD and zfs. Services include nextcloud, personal wiki, git repo/mirror, personal file storage. Guests include OpenBSD (default services) & Debian (development). I want something low power, reliable, and cheap. This is mostly a learning experience and I will be the only user. Just need something to throw in the closet and connect to. I’ve heard some folks mention ASRock and the ASRock J4105-ITX in particular. Although it is an atom and 8GB limited memory. Would this be a good place to start? I know Wendel uses byhve so hopefully folks are familiar with it.
Could recommend a pre built machine as they can be grabbed off ebay cheap,
also allows for expansion later as well.
