PCs screen turns off and fans go on full blast

I have recently build a pc ( around a month ago). In the past week while I was gaming suddenly the screen turned off and fans were running at full blast. I could not use it at all, tried CTRL+ALT+DEL but no luck. I then manually turned it off and on again and it was running fine till today.

I was gaming and left the game open for an hr while i was away, when I came back and realized that I checked my thermals and the cpu was 72c and gpa around 67c. Then I gamed for at least 1 more hr till the issue happened again.

My current cpu is a 7800x3d and gpu 4080 super. Does anyone have any idea what could be causing the issue?

Seems reasonable to me.

What parts are the rest of the system?
The more info the more precise the tips you get.

Assuming you are on Windows are there any critical errors in event viewer?

Are you running any overclock on cpu, memory or gpu, have you undervolted anything?

Is the system otherwise stable, do you have any other issues, did you do stress testing when you put the machine together?

Is it happening in one particular game or multiple, and do the games themselves produce crash logs?

I’ve had similar issues in the past that were caused by bad memory timings and overly agressive undervolting.

Type in start menu memory test and run it

I have done the following stress test:

  1. Cinbebench R24 30 mins, stable at around 82c
  2. furmark for the GPU which run pass through easily around 65c
  3. Aida 64 SHA3 for memory oc stability

My CPU is running on stock settings, with the only OC as I mentioned above is my ram which run at 6000mhz.

This currently, happened with 2 games. In other things such as media consumption and productivity have not shown any issue.

Try OCCT for the memory bench for about an hour. Its great for seeking out issues.

Which fans spin to 100%?
System?
CPU?
GPU?
