My pcpartpicker says "In order to fit, the EVGA GeForce GTX 660 2GB Video Card may require removing drive bays from the NZXT Source 210 Elite (Black) ATX Mid Tower Case. The case only supports video cards up to 230mm in length without removing drive bays, while the video card is 241mm long." Will this be an easy fix or should i switch the case/gpu? Heres my build: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/3f3Rx
On the NZXTs removing drive bays is easy. They have thumb screws on the inside of the retainer wall (the OTHER cover) pull those out and you are good to go. Unless you have hard drives down there. Then you are going to have to make a choice. If you do have Hard drives down there, Id save and buy one huge 4tb HDD
That isn't accurate. What it should say is keep the hard drive in a slot that doesnt line up with the gpu. In this case it's the hard drive you would actually be hitting, not the drive bays or the drive cage itself. As long as you keep it in a different slot, you are fine. This case doesn't have traditional drive trays anyway, just plastic tool less parts. I don't think Pro Sonic looked at the link. The Source 210 has the same exact interior design as the Tempest 210, and I happen to have a 660 just like that and a buddies Tempest 210 right here. I will do a swap real quick to have proof that it will fit. I will be back in a second with a pic
I think you'll be fine. If anything, I would opt for a shorter 660 if you can find one but I doubt that will be necessary. Also, don't get a 4TB HDD. HDDs with that much storage have much higher failure rates than HDDs with 1-2TB.
Here you go bro. This is a build I did for a friend, and just put my 660 in there. The Tempest 210 is the exact same thing internally as the Source 210. Fits without a problem as long as you move the hard drive down somewhere. And also note, that is a CM Hyper 212 EVO cpu cooler, it will NOT fit if you decide to get a cooler in the future. I have a bit of decorative cosmetic work to do to the panel yet to make it fit and look decent for my friend.
Thanks! I love forums.
I had assumed the bays were like the H230s with the sideways drive bays AND that PCPP had actually tried to fit the card without drives in it.AND that the OP had Hard drives all the way to the bottom. in that case He would have to make a choice on which he wanted.
No problem dude. Any more questions feel free to ask. Also, if you are ever unsure if a part will fit in a case again, scroll down to the bottom of the page of the part where it says "builds using this part." There you can look at people who have used that part in their builds, and you can narrow down the search even more by selecting other criteria like the case and that will show builds where people have used both of those parts together. Just be wary of some. I found out the hard way if you are searching for builds where a particular cpu cooler will fit in a specific case, make sure they have a pic of the panel closed after the cooler is installed. Thats why I didn't find out the CM Hyper 212 couldn't fit in the Tempest 210 until I actually put the pc together. Plenty of people using both parts, but not one had a pic of the panel shut because they don't want others to see their screw up. But anyway, good luck with the build dude
But they're not. Why assume when it only takes 3 seconds to look at the build, and then the case and gpu in question?
i would not get a blower style cooler on the 660. i had that exact card and i hated it because it was loud, hot , and crashed if it got too hot. i would recommend a windforce or asus

Yeah I should have addressed that earlier. I got focused on making sure the card fit. My personal opinion, if he is going to opt for a different gpu I'd get this http://pcpartpicker.com/part/sapphire-video-card-100364l instead of the 660 all together. Shorter than the 660 so guaranteed to fit.
