i guess it's misinformed marketing on Asrock side then, on their page they have a big graphic saying PCI-E 3.0.

My 4gb Gtx 770 in my 990fx gigabyte motherboard would disagree with the 2g limit.

PCIe Gen2 is a bandwidth limitation (That we haven't hit yet) not a RAM amount limitation, it's not like 32 and 64bit.
