Hello, I would like to know if it is possible to do a pci pass through
with a laptop that has a 950m gpu. I could find no list saying it could.
I am pretty sure the cpu and mobo will be compatible for this. Pci pass
through requires a second gpu, which is what intel integrated graphics
should provide.
What's the CPU in it? can your bios select between integrated and your dedicated card
We would need more info about your laptop to tell, first and foremost the laptop would need the ability to drive two monitors at the same time (one your internal LCD, and two a external monitor), then your CPU, MB, and BIOS must support virtualzition, even if you have all the necessary elements most laptops lack the rest of the needed resources ie memory, CPU cores, to make it worth the effort, but post your specs and we'll take a look.
The device is a Eurocom Electa 2 r2. http://www.eurocom.com/ec/configure%281,335,0%29ec
CPU: 1-5 4210m http://www.notebookcheck.net/Intel-Core-i5-4210M-Notebook-Processor.115116.0.html
Mobo: stock eurocom/clevo
I thought you could just tell me if the 950m has or doesn't have vga pass-through capability. If not, it will not work.
At the most basic level....the CPU, it does not support VT-d although it does support VT-x, VT-x would enable you to run software like virtual box and have the base support at the CPU level but without VT-d which is the actual I/O virtualization that allows hardware pass through to work.., it has nothing to do with the GPU or what model or maker of the second GPU, without VT-d support it simply will not work.

Thank you for your help. I did some research and found an Asus ROG with a 4720hq that has vtd. The price is $750.
