PC won't work

Greetings forum!

I don't know if this is the right place to post but I don't know the origin of the problem I'm about to unveil.

Overall what I am able to determine is that it won't POST after I replaced its PSU and GPU. Both parts worked the day before, I even swapped the gpu on another pc to see if it was dead, it wasn't. Model of the mobo is asus P5kr, psu is a  fractal 500w, gpu is a HD 7700.

The problem is I don't see any text on the monitor. I'm using a DVI to VGA adapter,  and I don't hear the single beep after it POSTs successfully.

I took out the RAM to see if the buzzer was working and it beeped the normal RAM error sound.

I put the GPU in the other PCI slot to see if it wasn't broken but that wasn't the issue.

Other than that, case and cpu fans are spinning and I can hear the HDDs revving up, yet nothing comes up on the monitor.

Any ideas or general input would be greatly appreciated.

Have you tried a completely different GPU in your mobo and by the looks of it you can't test weather the mobo will post with on-board? I had a problem where I turned my PC off them my mobo and GPU became un-compatible they both worked fkn weird.

This mobo doesn't have on-board video, although I can check with another gpu. If it still doesn't work with another card, what does that tell us ? The PCI slots are shot?

Just a heads up, I found out what the problem was after reading around on other forums.

Turns out one of the ram sticks was shorting out the psu, I probably nudged it too hard when I was interesting the 24 pin power connector... Or it was shaken a bit too hard in the car. I swapped the 2 sticks to the other dimm slots and it POSTs normally.

Glad you got it working.
