So I was wondering at what point does a PC beat a console at graphics? I understand I may not be looking at the whole picture such as cheaper game prices advanced controls blah blah. But I don’t know if there is a bench mark you can run or something that will say “hey my pc is better at gamming than a ps3 or xbox”.
I'm no expert, but to me, if your rig can handle a title shared with the xbox or PS3 and can play the game at a higher resolution than the console at 30FPS or higher, that's when you know you're ahead of console. Especially these days, when everything on console runs worse than low graphics on PC.
Current consoles can barely run games at 720p, and even then you are loosing a lot of the eye candy such as AA and such. If you were to benchmark a PC compared to a console both at 1080p I doubt most games would even be playable on a console trying to push native 1080p resolution.
