Please don't criticize me I'm only 13.
I just Built a pc and when i hit the power button the fans start spinning and then after 3 seconds they stop.
The power led starts flashing after that.
here r the specs:

-wd caviar blue 500gb
-msi fm2-a75ma-e35
-amd a10 6800k 3rd gen apu
-8 gigs of corsair vengeance

i dont a a internal speaker but i order 1 should come in in 2 days
tried everything i or other forums could think of except removing the cpu.

Edit: I haven't had a chance to put windows on it yet started immediately

Edit: after i hit the power button once it will not turn on again until i flick the switch in the back

HELLLLLLLLP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please

>Could very well be that your BIOS needs updating to work with the Richland chips (6800k) - here is the link to the BIOS page  http://au.msi.com/product/mb/FM2-A75MA-E35.html#/?div=BIOS If this is the case then you will need to use a trinity apu to flash it unfortunately.. See if one of your nearby friends or someone here on the forum or other forums has one you could borrow for 5 mins.

If you are positive that the BIOS is version 2.0 or above then;

>Make sure your front panel connectors are inserted properly - pwr, hdd, res etc. > The little mark on the cable indicates the positive.

>Where all the motherboard standoffs in the correct place? If any are stray and touching the board its game over.

>Doube check every connection going to your board - make sure the 4/8 pin cable is inserted correctly on the top right of your board along with the 24 pin cable.

>Re-seat your ram or if you have some other ddr3 lying around try and use that - the board only supports 1.5v kits so there may be an issue there.

Hope this was of some help.

Thanks for the help!

I tried all that and newwegg said it had an updated bios and it was richland ready.

It is still having problems

Unless you have another system to test the ram and psu on its going to be hard (once you get your internal speaker going listen for any beeps) to diagnose.

Could be the ram, psu....

See that your motherboard is properly grounded. If it isnt, it will act all weird, staying alive for a short period. trust me I know, I broke my head over it once i built my first pc.

by grounding I mean, use the copper "standoffs" that attach the mobo to the case. Check them. see if theyre properly grounded. (the case actually connects those standoffs to the ground of your PSU via the mounting screws)

How do you test that?

One screw i tightened too much and a had to sucure the back of the standoff in place or it would just turn the standoff

my dad has an imac that takes standard ram but there is no room for the huge heatsyscs on corsiar vengence

(our whole family uses macs, im the first one to build/buy a pc in years)

You can bench test it by taking it out of the case and placing it on a non conductive surface (think the box the mobo came in). That would test the grounding of the case itself. Also do you have a speaker (the 3 or 4 pin one that should plug into the motherboard front panel header), you might not as both case and motherboard manufacturers stop providing them for the most part, but it could tell you if it posts at all or what error codes it reports.

you could completely seperate the mobo from the case and find out what it does then. (I remember going case-less solved it for me, which made me realise what the problem was when I broke my brains over it)

Or you could manualy ground some standoffs to your psu mounting screw (anywhere near that), and see what happens.

+1

oh allready breadboarded did nothing.

Well then...

My money is on psu failure - Too high wattage.

i dont have a speaker and allready tried breadboarding

Thanks for the help:)

i thought it was only too low that afftected it,

it was only 430 watts

whould tightening a standoff screw too much affect it?

if some stuff is fualty american express will refund me (it's my dad's not mine dont worry)

Assuming you bought a ram kit with multiple modules, install only 1 in DIM slot 1. Try different combos of that.. Also take out any exapnsion card you may have installed. Failing that I would think the motherboard might be DOA, but wait for the speaker to come if you can. Depending on where the stuff came from you can try to RMA pieces of it (I would start with the motherboard and PSU), but I think the problem is with the motherboard itself. Also if you got stuff from newegg or amazon look to echange them there first before trying to charge back, they are usually outstanding with customer serivce and you can get the stuff back alot faster than waiting for a chargeback and then ordering new parts.

doesnt matter

if it doesnt work caseless, grounding is not the issue

yeah. 430watts should be fine. Me thinks its mobo related aswell. that, or the PSU had a full fledged breakdown out of nowhere.

i used newwegg and amazon :) i tried the ram thing it doesnt work
