Okay so I'm not usually the type to ask for help but as I've been around here a while and know that some of you are quite the intelectual type I thought I'd have a pop. So Ill keep it short basically I'm looking at building myself an editing/gaming rig with as little compremises as possible I live in the uk so some parts are not what you'd call cheap what with our 20% VAT. Nonetheless I have a budget just shy of £1,000 and already have all my parts picked.
Case:
Fractal Design Define R4 Or the XL R2 when its out.
So this being my first build I was hell bent on making it last a while, I will be getting an ssd eventually was looking at a mushkin 240gb which was a bargain, also may be looking at getting the H80i or even h90 when I have the funds as I would be looking at overcloking.
Is there anything you guys could point out that I've missed and would you recommend a Corsair/NZXT close loop or maybe a noctua air cooler for the cpu.
Cheers,
Any advice would be much appreciated.......... Marlon.
Seems ok, just that the specs on that board show that it doesnt support SLI technology just Crossfire, seeing as you might go Nvidia for a multi gpu system getting a board that can do SLI might be better.
Id get the SSD first and then add in a second video card (of whatever you buy, id get a 680 if your using adobe of a 7970 for games) the cooler depends if you care how quiet it will be/ how high you want to OC, and id try and go with a Different PSU, thermaltake is pretty decent but you can get better PSu makes for around the same price.
I've had good luck with the thermaltake Frio OCK as an aircooler. but its freaking huge, if you want 32 gigs of ram while using it you'd need low profile DIMMs. I'd assume that its the same for other aircoolers, so I'd go with a closed loop water cooler for now. and I'd go with the EVGA graphics card.
Thanks for pointing that out its probably not an option as I would never use sli but, looking at the board would you recommend something with more heatsinks for an overclock around 4.5/6 on 3770K?
hmm, on the powersuply.... i have found a new 'favorite'... i cant seem to find them being sold anywhere, but i pulled an amazing power supply out of one of my friends ibuypower computers. its a solytech sl-8850. it just makes 80+ platnum rating, and its 800 watts.
