Alright, so I have decided on parts that I would like to get for my PC. My budget is around the 750 USD mark and I'd like some feedback telling me if the parts will be good or not and telling me if they are all compatible with each other. I also appreciate suggestions regarding some cheaper options for certain parts. This is my first PC build.
CPU: AMD FX-6300 GPU: Asus GTX 970 Strix edition Motherboard: MSI 970 2133 gaming Cooling Unit: Hyper 212 evo (obviously) HDD: 1TB Western Digital Blue Power supply: EVGA 500 watt RAM: Kingston HyperX Fury 1x8 GB (Yeah I know dual channel is better but whatever) Case: Deepcool Tesseract
The only things that I would bring up are that you may as well go with an 8350 and be done with that, if you are set going with AMD for the cpu, if not then I would suggest getting an Intel cpu. And also I would pick the 390 over the 970. They perform about as good as each other, but the 3.5gb of GDDR5 on the 970 could be a problem soon.
That said, the build you have will perform well enough. At the very least, consider getting the 8350 though. That will be much less likely to bottleneck such a powerful gpu.
Don't listen to him. There is no gain in-game with dual channel. 1 stick of 8gb is a great way to ensure that you can easily upgrade in the future. Also, I am gaming on 8gb right now. You are fine. 16gb is preferable, but not a minimum by any means.
I could not imagine using 8GB of ram I run out of ram with 16GB and dual channel makes a difference in the operating system if you think it doesn't make a difference in a game go get a console
Dude, 8GB is plenty for a gaming rig, plus I know thay dual is better, but im willing to sacrifice for just one channel, it's not that different anyways.
