PC over-hot, will cooling even fix it? Please help

Parts;
AMD FX 8350 Eight Core Processor 4.0GHz
GA-78LMT-USB3 motherboard
8gb ram
EVGA GTX 970 4gb two fan
EVGA NEX7508 PSU

Story; My computer always idles high (look at the pictures I have CPUID HWMonitor screenshots included) I'm most worried about my graphics card but it's my whole PC that is over-hot. On average my gfx card runs at 62 - 65 C (149 F) and my motherboard(or whatever TMPIN2 is?) at 55 - 70 C. We have reapplied paste to the processor before so it's not stock and I had an IT friend do it. The case is too small but that can't be the reason, what the hell do I do. Also last night randomly I heard my computer rev up like a jet engine (first time) while I was browsing reddit and looked at my gfx card hit 77 C (170F) so I opened the case, put the room fan on for like 20 seconds as it cooled down to average, then turned it off and went to sleep.

Too be honest I don't have much money but if I have to I will sell stuff to be able to pay and fix this mess, I spend 24/7 on my PC and can't handle it anymore.

it's most likely that motherboard. the 8350 is a POWER hungry chip. the 8350 is meant for the 990FX chipset not the 760G chipset. the 8350 needs a good solid motherboard that has a moderately great phase delivery. honestly, i'm surprised that motherboard hasn't caught fire yet.

the cheapest durable motherboard you can get is this below

If the VRMs did fry, that dust would turn the case into a grenade. lol

Stock I believe, the only fan added is the one in the back, will replacing the motherboard have any effect on cooling my gfx?

I clean it out like once a week man, I can't do much more, my house is like a dust magnet I guess...

well what could cause the 970 to be that fairly high is Airflow into the PC. I'm more fearful of the motherboard. i can't see them properly from the case but you definitely need more airflow. add some more fans to the PC and clean out some of the dust.

You're fine. 90C+ temps are problematic, otherwise, just keep the dust out regularly.

I've had the PC for over a year, the PSU and Graphics card are new to the system (since December), my friend suggests a new case, everyone says it's something else basically stating I need a whole new computer, it gets me so aggravated, I just want my PC to run right, you know?

have a fire extinguisher reaxy

Not sure if you're serious or not, I mean it runs fine but i'm scared it's just going to turn off and never turn back on one of these days or something.

Ignore all the over exaggeration. 70C is fine. Your parts won't last as long as ones kept at 60C, but they won't burst into flame either.

your cpu will have a short life.

It's been over a year so I would say it's done a good job so far, I hope you're wrong.

Again, exaggerating. OP clearly doesn't need this -- you're adding fuel to a fire that doesn't even need to be burning.

I feel you.

I do recommend you do two things.

  • Definitely consider a new case (if you can't afford one, buy more fans for the PC and clean out ALL the dust) [this will solve your GPU heat problem.]
  • a absolute must. get a 990FX motherboard. you don't have to get one now, but defnitely get one sometime in the future. cause your PC will have a short life span.

The CPU on AMD are only rated for safe at 60c.

Anyway some good air flow will go a long way and a half way decent CPU cool will help immeasurably. Something like the Cooler Master Hyper 212 evo for a base line.

Further I agree with the motherboard concerns, but highest and cheapest on the list is air flow and CPU cooling for me. After that you can look at motherboards.

Some of us want to see the world burn, raze the world and all that jazz, might as well start with OP's PC

If I ran a room fan on it would that help, I mean it seems to keep it down a few degrees but I know that it also isn't good/ideal for it.

I mean the processor only runs at around 39 idle so it's not that bad I guess? So I should stick to getting a new case and maybe sell my soul for some watercooling?

It's whatever the hell TMPIN2 is and my gfx card that runs at 60.

you don't have to watercool, but the cheapest option is a Cooler master hyper 212 EVO. they run for 30 bucks it will be fine.
