Pc Or Phone PoP

So I'm in need of a pc and a phone. My current phone now is a brick. My current pc is a i mac 2011 full of virus. So i need to make a choice between a htc one m8 or http://au.pcpartpicker.com/p/dpCzpg. (the keyboard is for my brother  it's for his birthday)

So i really need help

Please note that every thing in australia is very expensive so i can't just buy both.

Budget $1500 AUD

As a fellow Australian, I totally understand the budgeting issues, however you just have to grin and bare it or else move to another part of the world. What you can do is to drop one of the GPUs in your list, which should give you enough money to get both the phone and the PC. A single R9 270 should be alright at 1080p with high (not ultra) graphics.

For the money, that is pretty good. I would probably rather have one strong GPU as opposed to two 270s in crossfire... The 270s in crossfire are faster than most alternatives at that price... but some games have issues with crossfire (from my experiences). Support is better these days, so check out the list of games you want to play and see if they are all supported.

You might be OK with that PSU... but I would go with more than you need: Silverstone ST75F-P

Silverstone
ST75F-P

100% agree. Grab a good R9 290 or GTX 780. It wont be as powerful but if you ever want more power it will be less expensive to buy a second card down the track (second hand) Also ill vouch for the silverstone. Have a ST1200-G in my system. Haswell ready (As it should be) and stable power 100% of the time.

+1 here.

To your original question of Phone or PC, how about both. There are many here on the forum that can help with the PC so lets talk about the phone. Just need to find a phone for little or no money or learn to accept less powerful phone.

Check out getting the phone directly from China rather than sourcing it locally. I have had some great success getting stuff real cheap by getting it from banggood.com The cheapest Android phone that have will cost you AU$54.79 including shipping to Australia. Granted it's a bit crap but it is a smart phone. They do have a Lenovo from AU$65.75 is you want a brand you have heard of.

FirefoxOS is coming along nicely, not the smart phone experience most are used to but still better than a dumb phone. You should be able to get one on eBay

Look for a phones that has CyanogenMod support. I'm running a Samsung Galaxy S3 with CyanogenMod. It's just like a new phone feels better than new. So think about keeping the costs down by getting a lesser phone but flash it with CyanogenMod to refresh it.

Personally given the choice I would put up with a flip phone just so I could have a new PC. As for the old iMac, install Linux on it to give it a refresh because 2011 is only threes ago and that should have years of life in it.

Good luck and let us know how it's going.

Thank you all for helping me with my future build :D
