is this really legit?
G2A is a great shop. I've been their customer for over 4 years and no problems what so ever.
I personally wouldn't buy from G2A.com, there have been incidents where a developer or publisher completely revoked the keys, leaving you with no game and your money basically gone (Rebellion and Sniper Elite 3, if you want to look that up). They might sell keys from other regions where games are cheaper, they might sell stolen keys, etc. You just don't know. What's more they have this really shady "marketplace" where you don't even buy keys from them as a company but just from some random seller. Not worth the risk IMO, you know the saying, if it sounds too good to be true it probably is. You simply shouldn't buy keys from unlicensed partners/shops.
Those guys probably simply sell serial keys from physical copies. I bought games this way before (from other places) and never had issues.
Sure, if you want to take that risk then that's fine (just keep in mind that it has happened before and that it could easily happen again), but I don't want to buy stolen keys or keys from different regions. There's a good reason why games are way cheaper in other regions, if the average income in some countries is incredibly low compared to europe or the U.S. then they have to sell games at a lower price point (otherwise people would simply pirate the games). I wouldn't feel good exploiting this system, I want to support the developers of good games after all. The same goes for stolen keys, you may save 50% on a new game, but at the same time you're not giving the developer any money. I would rather pay 100% of the price to the developer (and some of it to the distribution platform) than 50% of the price to some random dude who got his hands on a bunch of stolen keys.
Keys from other regions are either region- or language- locked, and those games cost not 35 euros instead of 60, but around 20. You can, however, play language-locked games in English by changing language files and startup parameters, but not many people bother.
Keys that cost ~35 euros are regular retail boxes from 'first world' countries, they are completely legit and not in any way stolen. Those people simply buy physical copies in bulk and sell serial keys printed on the boxes.
If publishers want to stop people from abusing this system, they might want to put GameStop's dick out of their mouths and start pricing physical games appropriately. They have no right to complain, as it's their decision to sell physical games cheaper than digital.
