PC for a buddy

So long story short, my friend came over and saw these two PC's that I'd bought recently. I told him I got one from newegg and I built one. He asked me what he could get for less than $600 and I put together this. http://pcpartpicker.com/user/ck3/saved/1t6F

Now, how plays the same games I do and if you've seen any of my jillions of questions on this forum you'd figure out I play Arma 2 and 3, Skryim, and Minecraft. As far as Arma and Skyrim, he wants to run flawlessly on medium or MAYBE high settings at like a constant 35+ frames without going below 30 (this isn't what he said I'm just putting it the way he wants it as he doesn't know much about framerates or really much of anything about computer besides what some key parts are called :P ) The only question I have besides if this is really any good in your opinions is how is the ram. I went with a 1600 over a 1333 but its only 4 gigs? Will he be alright?

I can tell you that pretty much right on the $600 mark like you've got (5 off) is something he won't be stoked about. Also, if he doesn't order that by like two days look how much more it will cost him.

Not seeing your point

1, the cpu benckmarks the same as the Apu you have selected (you dont even need a apu)

http://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu.php?cpu=AMD+A8-5600K+APU

http://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu_lookup.php?cpu=AMD+Phenom+II+X4+965

2, the video card is allmost x2 the power

3, the harddrive is faster (7200 rpm)

4, the mobo is better and gives room for overclocking

5, cost of parts change from day to day when thay change you can find equally good parts for the same cost

6, its $20 more than what you picked >_>

The HDD isn't faster... saying a 7850 is TWO times the power is a bit of exxageration towards your argument.

650ti (128bit)

7850 (256bit) < a lot more power maybe not 2 times but its shure is a hell of a lot faster and the 650ti is not very good going past 720p

well that gigabyte board GA-970A-DS3 gives you the same worse oc options then the Asrock 970 Extreme3 cause it also comes with only a 4+1 power phase design..

Still better than the asrock >_< you need to spend over $100 if you what a better power phase

if he realy want to go in oc then he need to spend indeed over 100dollars to pickup a Asus M5A97 evo or a Gigabyte GA-970A-ud3, but i think oc will not be an issue up here.

it also depends on wich type of Phenom II X4 965 you coose the 125W or 140W version..

But cooperman you deffanetly right, with youre build it will perform much better, i do agree, i dont know why people looking at a APU setup wenn they still wanne buy a  GPU card with it.

He won't be over clocking
