PC Component Compatibility

Hi, I'm about to upgrade my rig and giving most of the old components to my dad. I would love it if someone could just controll check the future systems and give some feedback.

My future system:

PC Case: Lian li TU100 black

   Motherboard: MSI Z87I AC

   PSU: Silverstone SX600-G

   CPU: Intel Core i5 4670

   GPU: ASUS GTX DCMOC-4GD5

RAM: Corsair Vengance 2x4GB (from old system)

OS-Drive: Intel SSD 250GB (From old system)

   OS: Windows 7 home proffesional

My father's future system:

PC Case: Fraktal Design Core 3000 USB 3.0

Motherboard: MSI Z77a-s01

PSU: Antec VP450P

CPU: Intel Core i5 2320

GPU: MSI GeForce 210 1GB

RAM: Corsair Vengance 2x2GB

OS-Drive: Intel SSD 120GB

OS: Windows 7

Thanks in advance!

I'll just give you overall advice and plug it into pcpartpicker.com for part compatibility...

Nothing glaringly wrong there. Sometimes you can get weird compatibility issues between RAM and Motherboards, but it's pretty unusual in this day and age. I would second the advice to plug the components into PCpartpicker, or if you want to learn something, look up each individual Input/Output specification for each part (CPU socket type, PSU outputs, PCIe specification, etc) and verify it yourself.

ASUS GTX DCMOC-4GD5

I assume that's the GTX 970.

Looks ok for your system.

Your dad's system looks alright too, but just take out the GT 210 GPU.  That's probably going to be just as slow as Intel's HD 3000 stuff.

Yes it is a 970 (sry forgot to add that). We choose a simple GPU for his PC since the motherboard doesn't have built in graphics and the only demand he has is that it can run 2 digital monitors.
