Im currently running: Intel Core i7-4790K (cooled by H100i GTX) ASUS ROG MAXIMUS VII HERO, Socket-1150 Corsair HX1000i HyperX Fury DDR3 1866MHz 16GB GeForce GTX TITAN X
I'm wondering if i should get a second Titan X, Set up a water loop for the whole system or only loop for the card (as the card is running hot). Currently i do a lot of gaming, but i also do some video editing. Currently i have 3x 1440p screens (But i only use one for gaming) I figures i'd ask what you people think i should do. ( I only got the titan X because i got it for 1/3 of the price before 980TI was released)
i wouldn't upgrade anything. what you have is the absolute best you're going to get. unless you jump on X99. which you can do instead of grabbing another Titan X.. or get a MASSIVE SSD. that's about it.
My currently problem is that the Titan X is running EXTREMELY hot. (common issue as I've read)
I will be upgrading to X99 in a years time... unless they release anything better. But i was thinking more about the Water loop due to the temperature problem.
Oh and i will be doing making a Loop with 2 titan X's eventually.
a Custom loop would be nice. but just make sure you find a good tutorial on it. you don't want to mess up your components. (assuming you don't have experience of course) but since you are editing i would recommend you get a big SSD for your work files and edited videos. you're going to need it later when you're importing and exporting content.
I am using the Corsair Obsidian 750D. (without the front cover), with Corsair AF120 Fans and Corsair SP120 for the H100i. There are no external things that mess with airflow, and cables shouldn't be blocking too much.
Saving for next generation GPUs could be a smart move. Depends what the workloads are. Investing in a custom liquid cooling loop is a costly upfront investment. You can use a number of the components in future builds. Applying better thermal paste might yield a few degrees Celsius. Fans capable of moving a higher volume of air per minute will yield better temperatures. How much performance per dollar does each option offer? Can you afford it? Do you want to spend it? ( ●‿ ●)
