To my mind you should get i5 instead of i7 and put that money on graphics card. Better PSU would be also nice improvement. You can better cooling with some aircooler if you don't mind the looks.
If you're going to use a premium chipset motherboard, it's worth spending the additional $ on the K variant of any CPU. Personally, I would go with an i5 and whack more money into the GPU. It's still a capable editing CPU. I'd grab the i7 for video editing all day, every day. I will leave that to your discretion, though.
The H55 sucks. You're better off with a cheap CM 212, in my opinion. Alternately, there's other, smaller air coolers e.g Noctua NH-L9i
Consider a better PSU.
What's your budget? I will just see what I can configure. Otherwise, this thread will be a mess.
^^^ Yes the H55 suck's and you will need something beefer to cool a i7 that you are going to be maxing out rendering/editing the H55 couldn't cool a cup of hot coffee tbh.
I've got budget of about 1000 euro's say about 1300 dollars
I know its goofy but i want a windowed cases and a black/red theme i don't mind painting stuff :p
but i guess i'll just go for a i5 k edition and i still don't know what cpu cooler to grab i really don't want a bulky aircooler i'd rather have a all in one water cooler
is a 2x120 rad worth the extra bucks, performance wise compared to a 1x120
have a look at the be quiet dark rock pro heatsinks there great at cooling near silent and if you are going for a windowed case thay are black so thay blend in well.
I'm not sure which European country you're from. I configured a system in GBP, in the hope that you might find the parts under budget.
At £800, that is approximately 1000EUR. However, I would expect some price difference. You could compromise on the PSU and save money. I thought it would be a good idea to get a good unit.
I included a H80i. It's expensive, but it's an AIO cooler that will perform well.
i'm now going for the i5 4690k cpu with the H80i or maybe even the H110 and also gonna take the 280x but i'm gonna keep the VII ranger and the bigger case :p
Try an H60 or an H80i, I personally have an H60 and I like it, and I have several friends who love their H80i's. The H55 just isn't really a good idea...
PLEAAASE dont say that XD I tried that philosophy and the 2 months I had the stock AMD cooler on my FX 6300 was the worst 2 months of my life, that cooler wouldn't even be able to cool a raspberry Pi effectively
ow did i post that one XD i thougt i said corsair obsidian, i'm just not sure wich one is big enough, the elite 430 was just on my list in case of budget problems
What website are you purchasing from? You don't have to pay much for quality. Check out some of the Fractal ATX cases, like the Core 3000. They've made some additions to their core series.
