PC build list and will i get enough performance for gaming

CPU: Intel Pentium g3258 anniversary edition 2 cores @3.2ghz

Mobo:Msi Z97S SLI PLUS ATX LGA1150

CPU Cooler:Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo

Storage:Samsung 850 evo 120 gb for my os/ Seagate 2tb for my games and programs

Graphics Card: EVGA Geforce Gtx 760 ACX that i will most likeley overclock

Case: Fractal Design Defign R5

Random DVD WRiter

OS: Windows 8.1 64 bit

Ram: 8 GBS of Corsair vengeance ddr3 1600 mhz

PSU: Corsair CX750M 80+Bronze

I will be playing games like TF2,Minecraft,CS-GO-,GTA 5,The Batman Arkham Series,Smite, and Just Cause 2

I want to know if i have enough performance to run these games at high-maxed settings. And if you see any bottlenecks please let me know.

If I were you, I'd drop the SSD and put more money in the CPU, the duel core won't be horrid for gaming, but it is the multitasking that will be hard. I would say change the GPU, but I know my 760 is not hitting its full potential. Maybe switch to a FX-8320.

Lot of the games you play love single threaded performance.  However, I'd try and reach for a lower end haswell i5 with a B85/H87/H97 board.

GTX 760 isn't great in price-performance at the moment.  A R9 280X would be a better option.

Overkill power supply.

If you could give us a budget, that would be great.

the power supply could be overkill but i wanted some growing room for upgrades. I got the 760 for christmas so i have to use that graphics card.My main concern is whether or not i would get enough performance or if the cpu will bottlenecl my gpu

It really depends on the game.  The G3258 has 2 cores and 2 threads.  Some games won't like that, and therefore even if you overclock, you might have stuttering frames and such.  The majority of the games would run just fine, though, since most aren't too heavily CPU-bound.

The GTX 760s are going to be a little bit difficult to find for SLI in the future, and the CX line of power supplies isn't that great in terms of quality and performance.  I'd grab a 550-650w power supply, and just switch out the GPU to a stronger single one in the future when you need it.

Do you have a budget?  I'm looking at your build and I see:

  • Too much money spent on the case
  • Overkill power supply
  • SSD that's new and expensive

A cheaper SSD like the Adata SP610 or Kingston HyperX Fury would still be great in performance, and save you money.

The money saved in some various places can enable you to put more money into different areas, instead of finding budget parts that may just squeak by for now.

Thanks for the feedback. I have revised the list and this is what i came up with. (try not to focus on the fans. purely astetic only there if i can get them)

For your games, sticking with Intel due to higher per-core performance would probably be a much better idea.  Minecraft in particular can be incredibly hard to run.

I'm not too sure what your budget is, so making a list of parts is a bit difficult.  Could you answer these questions?

That's a nice build right there, I think that would meet your expectations and then some.

That is an excellent build right there. Keep the CPU except maybe bump it up to the 8350. Switching to Intel would cost more and the argument that Minecraft is harder to run on an AMD is bullshit.

The only problem i could possibly see, is if you are planning on overclocking your FX-8320 to match FX-8350 speeds, if that is the case i don't believe that Air cooling unit will cope with the heat. A closed water cooling unit does a better job. Just something to Consider.

Other then that, The build looks good.

Yeah, I'm using AMD, now it is an 8350 and not 8320 but I'm running Minecraft butter smooth, I'm also only using a 760.

I have a budget of 600$ for a

cpu,cpu coller, motherboard,ssd,case,dvd drive, and windows 8.1.

so really 500$ on hardware plus 100$ for windows
