PC build, help needed

Hello, I am trying to convince my parents to allow me to build my own PC, but they are against it. It is for gaming and editing purposes only. If you can find any parts that are better/cheaper please tell me. That is the highest my budget goes. I will also fill up some of those empty hard drive bays and possibly add a new graphics card. I already have a monitor, mouse, and keyboard. Here are the specs for my PC:

Also, could you give me some reasons to convince my parents to let me buy this. They think computer building is rocket science, but I do know how to build a PC. Also, the rig costs around $625 without taxes nor shipping.

Oh, and here is the thing. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/yrDI

Drop the phantom. It's a nice case but it's huge and it's a little pricey. If you get a case like http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811139008 you'll save a little bit that you can dedicate to getting a power supply with a higher wattage. That's my advice, at least.

If, however, you do go with the phantom anyway, you won't need that bracket for the SSD. I threw an OCZ agility in my friend's phantom without an aftermarket bracket easily.

I'd also recommend two separate sticks of ram. I got this for my friend's setup- http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820104231

For editing and gameing 128Gb isn't much while that ssd speed would be great for editing and load times you might wanna get a storage drive to complement that or even get a 60gb ssd as a boot drive and a 7400rpm drive for everything else

unless you really want all those pci slots I would go with this asrock motherboard

it suports higher speed ram which is what you want for these apu systems as system and graphics memory is shared

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157342

here is high speed ram http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820104330 this stuff is about as fast as it gets for the price

if you go with the matx motherboard a smaller case that has less air to push inside will bring your temps down a nzxt vulcan is a good choice if you like that brand http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811146065

with these adjusted parts with the cash you saved some upgrades to consider would be an a-10 as the graphics preformance is considerably faster or a cooler for your a-8 so you can run it at load without it overheating and underclocking, and then you could go the other way and overclock your system as your ram already needs to be overclocked to achive the full speed of the these cards so you might as well get the apu runnin faster too.

Thanks, I'll probably use those in my build. Thanks for being awesome.

Just get a regular hard drive, caviar blue or seagate barracuda. You dont need W7 professional. Get dual channel ram thats like 1866 or so it helps the apu run faster.

A WAYYY cheaper case than that...like NZXT or bitfenix's cheap cases around 50$.if you make those changes you could even fit an A10. normally 1600 ram is fine but for apu's they run on the ram.

Bumping up an old forum.
