Hello and thanks for reading this, maybe you'll be able to help me. So, I am a total newbie, trying to build a PC for video editing and sometimes also gaming. It is going to be also a home PC for the whole family so it would be nice if it lasts for a while. I already have a configuration but the price is a little bit too high, so I would like to ask if you could help me to lower it somehow if possible. This is my configuration : http://pcpartpicker.com/p/JeuY
All help is appreciated.
Thank You !
Looks like a nice build to me. I can try to come up with something for you if you give me a budget.
You could replace that caviar green with a caviar blue for the same price.
I remember logan hinted in one of his videos that the intels were better for video editing with cs6, but you'd think the amd fx's with all their 8 cores would be better. Anyone have experience with this? Kind of threadjack but its related. lol
I'd be interested to know
I would like to cut the price down to about 800-900 $
So far thanks for all the responses :)
i have seen 7850 for 160 bucks that could lower it.
you dont need the ssd perse?
you could get away with a cheaper case and psu.
From what I've seen the AMD FX 8350 with its 8 cores has better performance at rendering with programs that can use the advantage of the number of cores that it has. It has performance better than the I5 sometimes the same as with the I7 and you can get it for the 190 dollars which is very nice for budget builds. Feel free to correct me if Im wrong, I am building just my first PC . :)
I would really suggest going with this build instead: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/Jhmr
I can tweak it a little bit to make it cheaper if you want me to.
I would go with 8 gigs of ram to start with, and get like a sapphire or msi 7870 gfx card. asus cards are great, but they are usually on the top end of the price scale...
What editing program(s) are you using? For adobe cs6 a nvidia card is a must. Also you can get a 7850 2gb for like $160 and then get the two never settle games (bioshock infinite and tomb raider I believe) free
On the PC that I'm using now I have 8 gigs of RAM and it is not enough, one of the things that I want to keep is the 16 gig RAM. It is very nice when you want to pre render some part of your video to see it how it looks without lags and so on.
I'm currently using sony vegas pro 12.
If you are planning on recording games i would get a faster hardrive get like a caviar blue with 7200rpm.
I don't know why you're still dead set on your original build...
Every component in this build is superior to the components in your build:

Thanks, seems very nice to me with the 64 gig SSD. I just have to add DVD mechanicics and it will be Superb :) Thank you once again.

Talking completely out of my ass here, but the amds are supposed to be better for vegas pro 12 than nvidia Read this thread about it.
