Pc build advice

I am looking to build a nice little gaming rig for my room but I can't decide what I want to buy so I'm looking for some advice or some input on my parts that I have picked out

The only games ill normally be playing is Battlefield 4, Bioshock and Roller Coaster Tycoon 2 & 3.

My budget including basic peripherals and a decent 18-24" 1080p IPS Monitor is $900.

Also I would like to do a bit of over clocking and a water cooler is almost a must for me.

I would really like to stick with the NZXT S340 case or a case thats similar.

These are some pc's I put together. The first one is my favorite so far.

Any particular reason you need watercooling?

I mean the H60 is crap. Like it isn't a very good cooler at all. For that price you could get a Noctua air cooler which will perform better than an H100.

Really if you want to go water cooling you need a very good 140MM (Kraken X41) or a good 280MM (Kraken X60) to get the most out of it and beat a good Noctua air cooler.

There's no good reason why I want water-cooling. It mostly comes down to the aesthetics of the build, But I don't want to sacrifice performance for aesthetics. After doing a little bit of research, I am looking at the Cooler Master Seidon 240M Or the Noctua NH-D14.

Go with the Noctua NH-D14.

If you don't like the color, Phanteks has a very similar cooler in different colors.

Okay, I checked out Phanteks they have some pretty cool coolers. I will be going with them. Any other recommendations or tips?

ditch the water cooler the Noctua d14 is on sale

edit or ... If I bother to read all the posts ... do that ...lol

Why not try the BE QUIET! Dark Rock Pro 3?

The difference appears to be about 5 degrees C ... at least according to this chart ... I have not checked the accuracy of the chart personally.

The funny thing is I have seen multiple charts, and normally the Dark Rock Pro 3 and the Noctua NH-D14 are head to head..

I have nothing against the Dark rock Pro ... in fact I like it ... I am just a fan of Noctua fans so to speak  ... sorry bad pun

i5, ssd &1tb wd blue, 280x, xfx psu, ips monitor, similar case.

+1

Just make the RAM 2x4 gb , and PLEASE change that ssd , take a 240 gb one for ~10$ more or choose a more economic one .

I might be completly off on ssd pricing , In the EU I can get 240 gb for 60€ .

I'm not so much worried about storage. I have a 1TB WD Blue from my old computer and I'm not in a rush to get a SSD. I might try and snag a few on back friday or whenever I see a good deal.

What processor would you guys recommend for heavy multi tasking?

I plan on using this computer also for, Browsing the web frequently, Downloading files, and playing games at the same time. I play Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 and use a lot of custom scenery so I am constantly downloading and browsing forums for new cs to add.

If I stick to an Intel cpu would it be okay if I also went with a water cooler like the h80i or something in the 60-80 price range?

A Hyper 212 Evo would perform just as well as an H80i.  Don't bother with the small liquid coolers as their price-performance just isn't worth it.

Any half decent CPU should do it.  An i5 should handle most of your needs.  If you do really like to have a lot of programs open at once, consider more RAM.  (probably up to 16GBs if you like to have games running in the background along with a truckload of chrome tabs)

+1 solid advice and at the time of my first post the Noctua d14 was on sale for $59  ... hard to pas on at that price

Seriously, for gaming and browsing and other everyday stuff, I'd stick with the first build, ditch the watercooling for some decent air cooler (Noctua, beQuiet, Thermalright or Rajintek), maybe swap the r9 280 for a 285 that is a little more efficient and has a newer architecture, and spend a some more on the monitor (like a BenQ BL2410PT). Maybe go for a 1TB SSHD to make the system a little snappier. Done!

The Gigabyte Mobo will be good for some overclocking and will look great in that NZXT case with its black PCB. With the white Case and the Black Mobo, the beQuiet Dark Rock Pro 3 and the Rajintek Ereboss Black will look especially great IMHO.

Hows about this rig http://pcpartpicker.com/p/ZhTnNG

I just need to get a graphics card to fit between 200-300$

I'm also going to buy a h105 cooler and another set of ram around black friday.

$330 will get you into a GTX970 GPU or you can get an R9 290 for around $290

and I think you would be happier in the long run if you spent $25 more on the mobo and get this

MSI Z97-GAMING 5 ATX LGA1150 Motherboard

http://us.msi.com/product/mb/Z97_GAMING_5.html#hero-overview

a h105 cooler would be a decent option  ... the NZXT 210 cases are limiting to air cooler choices because of heat sink height restrictions

I think Ill go with a R9 280, I'm not going too crazy with the graphics. The only online game i'll play is BF4 and I believe the AMD cards work well with BF4. Other than that I just multitask heavily and watch/download movies.

As for the motherboard I really would like to stick with the blue color scheme. Why would you prefer that board over my current? I do plan on doing a bit of overclocking.

As of 10/8/2014 My current budget with an 1080p IPS monitor is $1000. I kinda want an intel quad core and a decent power supply that is fully modular and will be future proof for an upgrade. let me know what you guys can come up with or what you think so far.
