Pc broken? I need help!

I ordered my new pc (Gtx 760, msi z77a-gd45, i5-3570k, 8GB ram, 256GB ssd, bequiet darkpower pro 10 650w) and got it today. I immediately started building it. (Mind I have already built a heck of a lot of gaming pcs before, all fully functional)

The problem... it doesn't work. I connected a display to the output of my graphics card and fired up the pc. The fans start spinning loudly as they should and then get quieter until they completely stop and you hear a tock noise. Then, after about 3 seconds, it started to repeat itself, spinning loudly and stop and on and on and on

I thought the system would power down and then restart to look for boot devices (wich I didn't connect) so that it repeats itself. But, the display does not have a signal and recieves nothing from the pc, wich means I can't see what's going on.

I reset the cmos already, but nothing. It just powers on and of all the time until I pull the cord.

I am really desperate because I can't afford to buy a new part right now so it has to work as it is. It's kind of an irony that I built so many pcs for friends and all worked, and my own just won't.

Please help :(

connect you monitor to the  onboard monitor port on the motherboard. take out your GPU, and look if it shows  post then. just to dettermine if it´s a GPU problem, or something else. if it still doesnt post.. take out the motherboard from the chasis lay it on the box, connect your monitor to the onboard video port and fireit up outside the case, maybe a screw cost a short circuit some where. if it doesnt post at all, try to reinstall the cpu. but i think as you said your experianced builder, so i trust that you installed the cpu correct.

Is there any beeping or a numbered error indicator thing on your mobo for trouble shooting? You might want to try switching the ram out, or putting it in different dimms(maybe it is the ram?). Also try onboard GPU.

>Check you ram... make sure its in the correct slots (dual channel etc if its two sticks or the far right slot if its 1 stick, just check you manual)

>Remove gpu, run off the onboard gpu, if boots then go from there - gpu could be a dud or there is an fault with the power delivery ~ psu/ motherboard even. That psu has a quad rail setup so be sure to use the correct cables - 2x  6+2pcie.

>disconnect everything else as well. so just have - motherboard, keyboard, screen, ram. As it could be even a hdd/ssd that is shorting out the system. Especially if its an OCZ.

>If you can get to the bios, great. If it shits itself even after that with everything plugged in. Grab the latest BIOS and do an update via a usb.

>Worst case, check that you havent bent any pins in the socket.

ive got a feeling that it could be the psu, because of the tok noice.. but ofc it could also be something diffrent.

I didn't think it would work, but I exchanged the ram dimms with some older 1333Mhz ddr3s and voila! It works, thx :D

I almost died thinking how it would have been having to call a tecnician that probably didn't know what to do either and that would have charged 50 bucks just to show up...

Phew, thx

Thx to you all for the fast help :) I really love the community here ^^

It' fixed now.
