i have a problem with my pc. it boots fine but i
get no video output. when i do get output i just
get a weird pix-elated black screen with lines of colour. i have just got 16gb of corsair ram. it
has been working fine so i doubt it is the
problem. im guessing that my gpu is dead but i
need some help. i have taken out and reinserted
the cmos battery and the gpu. i have
continuously switched ram sticks and now i get a double beep from my mobo. windows loads
fine because i can hear the startup sound. all the
fans are running fine including the gpu fan. plz
guys help im about to spend £140 on a new gpu and i need my pc for my coursework! Edit
2 short beeps means that your memory is having issues.
2 Short Beeps.
Your computer has memory problems. First check video. If video is working, you'll see an error message. If not, you have a parity error in your first 64K of memory. First check your SIMM's. Reseat them and reboot. If this doesn't do it, the memory chips may be bad. You can try switching the first and second banks memory chips. First banks are the memory banks that your CPU finds its first 64K of base memory in. You'll need to consult your manual to see which bank is first. If all your memory tests good, you probably need to buy another motherboard.
DO A MEMORY TEST IF YOU CAN ACCESS YOUR BIOS
I don't get any video including bios and I was not getting the 2 beeps before I started switching the ram sticks around
Before I started switching ram sticks around the computer was booting fine I could hear the startup sound. But there was no video.
Do you have the required 2x6pin connectors plugged into the graphics card? that may be the issue.
There both in
Do you have the video cables plugged into the GPU and not the motherboard I/O shield area?
Yes there in the gpu I have no integrated graphics
Try a different HDMI cable, ive had them break on me before.
I still have a old monitor so I use a dvi adapter to vga
