Hello there box of in's!
Tons and tons of sites now a days that offers a product gives the option to pay via PayPal. This is great, since PayPal is a very secure way to make transactions on the interwebs. But I don't like them. This is because of many reasons that I will not get into here. However I am a Google user, and thanks to Android I am "forced" to use the Google Check Out service which for me looks like something that could be used in the same manner as PayPal often is.
My first question is why PayPal is so much more popular than Google Checkout. Is it only because of the dominance on the market, so that when something new comes no one cares? But you know - people don't usually miss stuff that Google gives out for free... Or do Google miss something that makes PayPal a better service? I believe that I once payed with Google instead of PayPal once (outside of the Play Store ofcource)... I think it would be good to give people alternatives.
My second question is if there is a pay service out there that is run by good guys and still works *everywhere*. I would love to see some open source alternative for example...
Best regards from Sweden!
