is it possible to convert a payphone handset to use 3.5mm headphone and mic jacks? and would anyone be able to draw a diagram if its possible.
assuming both the speaker and mic use just 2 wires each, (if they're different i'm not sure)
get jacks (3.5mm or 1/8 in)(mono is perfectly fine), radio shack sells them (or if you want to be cheap you can salvage from an old pair of headphones(the insulating coating on the wires is flamable, just use a lighter)(and you'll need to use solder))
connect the black wire (ground) to the outer part of the jack, and the red (positive) to the center of the jack (it's the same for both speaker + mic) (you can just twist the wires to the connecters, but i like to solder them down)
it's that simple, do you still want a diagram?
