You seemed to have missed the entirety of the point of the problem of how patreon handled it.
No to mention he wasn’t spouting white supremacy nonsense, he was attacking white supremisists .

To be more clear, you seem to be arguing the point that it’s fine that all the rules were ignored because you don’t like him anyway.
Somehow you trust that the same wouldn’t happen to you when they so easily ignore there own rules and apply them arbitrarily.
It’s fair to say that Patreon needed to clarify their rules to make it clear that actions off the site would be considered. As they pointed out, they are primarily funding stuff people do on other sites or in real life, with their own site containing relatively little content.
On the other hand, he described people whose statements he didn’t like by using he N word and then saying that “white people don’t do that”, which is a common claim made by white supremacists (i.e. that they are superior and do not or should not behave like the inferior people they refer to with the N word).
Oh, and of course he threw in a homophobic slur too, because why not?
“I just can’t be bothered with people who chose to treat me like this. It’s really annoying. Like, I — . You’re acting like a bunch of n-ggers, just so you know. You act like white n-ggers. Exactly how you describe black people acting is the impression I get dealing with the Alt Right. I’m really, I’m just not in the mood to deal with this kind of disrespect.”
“Look, you carry on, but don’t expect me to then have a debate with one of your f-ggots.…Like why would I bother?…Maybe you’re just acting like a n-gger, mate? Have you considered that? Do you think white people act like this? White people are meant to be polite and respectful to one another, and you guys can’t even act like white people, it’s really amazing to me.”
I’ve called people the n word on Xbox when I was a teenager, would have been pretty bullshit if i got fired from Burger King because they found out, the fuck does Xbox live have to do with Burger King? Thusly what the fuck does this third party channel have to do with what his patreon is actually funding?
And no offense but saying language can only be used in one context shows a serious lack of linguistic skills.
They are just a middle man, they don’t fund anything. They do take a cut and offer some limited services on their own platform which currently is all they say their rules apply to, at least recently from what we found out from their private conversations.
Your quote just states the obvious, he was calling them what they describe others as acting like because they were acting like it.
Just because it’s crude doesn’t mean there’s anything racist about it. Honestly people need to grow up a little.
(I have a feeling btw that faggot is more acceptable in the UK as a general insult than in the US?)
Agreed. I used to greet my friends with a “homophobic slur” back in the early 2000s lul.
Depends. People in my age range said it as a replacement for “asshole” or “idiot”, but we’ve gotten more sensitive to how derogatory it can be.
Then again, some English dude asked me a while ago where he could find “a fag” and I was doing my best to help point him the way to the nearest gay club when my friend informed me he just wanted a cigarette and let him bum one off of him.
It’s not my thing to use language like that. But I wouldn’t ban someone for using bad language lol
I await the day that laughing at someone is offensive and illegal.
Sorry for the off topic-ness of this but yeah playing online with Americans “fag breaks” were a constant source of amusement, confusion, outrage and straight up abuse upon hearing it.
It got to the point where they would say “Right lads time for a fag break… Oh sorry a cigarette” all la di da di style to poke at the Americans.
Its funny when some of them disappear for no reason and then the penny drops, oh they are just homophobic and took it the wrong way.
Edit: now imagine being in america and asking to bum a fag… Yeah either weird look or genuine dangerous thing to say, total roll of the dice.
Especially if they were using it in exaggerated, hyperbolic fashion to make a point.
Welcome to my High School.
Lmao. Good times. I played Gears of War, WoW, and ToR with some Eurobrehs and they could troll Americans almost as good as I could troll them
Yeah, this was years ago, before the Age of Outrage.
The irony is palpable.
I don’t disagree. People getting upset that women are stars in movies and video games are just as bad as people getting upset that there aren’t women in CEO positions at every company.
Both sides are guilty of the “”“SJW”"" behavior and victimizing.
Relating to the topic at hand, though, anecdotally speaking, I was able to joke a lot more harshly in public than I can now.
Have you even read what happened at all?
I agree. In this instance though i don’t think i’ve really heard anyone argue that patreon should be forced to do anything, only that they think what patreon is doing is wrong but if that’s what they want to do it should be clear in their terms. And it should, their terms should state these things so people understand what they are signing up to use. Patreon wont as it would drive all their business away.
So those that mean I can’t call anyone on the left in the present or history National Socialist?

Maybe Burger King doesn’t want to employ racists. Maybe their black staff don’t want to work with people who use that word. Perhaps they are worried about the negative publicity they will get by employing people who call other people the N word.
All are perfectly reasonable reasons for firing you. And before you whine that you aren’t a racist, good for you but if you go around scream racist words at people there is functionally no difference.
Honestly, how shit is Sargon that he can’t make is point without using homophobic and racist slurs?
what is context
I have nothing to whine about, in fact, i’d say we’ve firmly established nothing can be gained by us interacting on this topic further lol.
furthermore i’ve had my fill of this thead and will be setting it to no longer notify me peace folks it was a nice discussion.
i’m fairly certain people who defend freedom don’t concern themselves into servitude for culture controlled by corporations.
And now to the 7 dirty words not allowed on media (shit, piss, cunt, fuck, cocksucker, motherfucker, tits) you can add nigger and fagot.
None of the 7 dirty words, with one possible exception, are homophobic or racist though. They are banned just because of prudes who don’t like them, not because it’s morally wrong to say them.
Freeze Peach Warriors always fail to understand this. It’s not a free speech issue, it’s an issue of you being a twat. If people don’t want to be friends with twats or provide services for them, that’s not censorship, that’s the consequences of being a twat.
I agree with this post, but at the same time, do you really think Burger King should be judging someone and firing someone based on what stupid thing they said on the internet? People’s behaviour online more often than not does not carry out in real life. This language is quite common online unfortunately but I don’t see it often in real life (and yes, I have seen some people act thuggish).
Then we get into concerns of freedom of speech and all of that good stuff.
