Part time gamer needs opinions

hey guys and gals
i am looking at getting back into gaming a little and my old hd6880 doesnt cut it.

i was looking at the the fury cards but i think for myself they are over kill. I am now tossing up between the 380x and the 390x.
currently playing the witcher 3 and looking at getting arkham night.

i spend most of my time in linux so prefer a amd card.

all playing on a single 1080p screen, (could possibly be 4k in future)

i like the looks of the 380 byt like the 8 gig of vram from the 390.

whats the general consensus on these cards? also didnt mind the looks of the fury (non x) but havent seen them anywhere over here (australia)

The 390 tore me away from wanting a GTX 970. Pretty much same core performance, twice the VRAM, same price, better for editing software, etc. It's the best bang for buck out there at the moment for people concerned about keeping games at max settings at 1080p and 1440p. Want 4k? Crossfire 2 of them. Not like you'll hit a VRAM shortage with a 390 any time soon

I would get a 390. You will notice little difference going to a Fury in terms of price to performance.
