Panasonic Toughbook CF-53 HDD to SSD Cloning issues

Hello everyone,
At work my employer just got in 2 Panasonic CF-53s for a client and wants the 320GB Spindle drives replaced with 500gb SSDs. We have done this plenty of times before without any issues. This time however when we attempt to the clone the drive using Arconis True Image, it fails, when trying to clone using Mini-disk Partition wizard on a separate machine it still fails, or it works but then when you boot the machine it BSODs. It works perfectly fine with the Spindle drive but does not work with the SSDs.

The SSDs are Curcial MX200 SSD. I am trying to clone the Windows 7 that is on the machine since it is windows 8/10 pro with downgrade rights.

Anyone have any ideas?

I've always had hit or miss success with Acronis and multi partitioned drives. Toughbooks are a bit tough because of how they setup the recovery partition. If it doesn't go back down in the right order and such, it bombs. I've since switched to Veeam Endpoint Backup (is free) and haven't had any issues with bare metal restores.

That being said, anymore I always order recovery media with our Toughbooks (or store the original drives), and just put a bare drive in and lay down my own Windows image using the entire drive.

Use Ping, Partimage Is Not Ghost. You're going to need a intermediary drive/server to back up to but it should be able to handle it. You could also plug both drives in and dd one drive to the other. That will be a bit more messy but it would work. You'll just need to resize the partitions once you're done copying them.

These are also nice.

Those are, at work we have at least 6-7 of those.

And they didn't work?

You get your problem solved dude?

not really however we had to preform a completely from scratch Windows 7 Pro install on the machine. For what ever reason the issue we were having is a result of the Intel SATA controller driver. However we have had this machine before plenty of times so it is odd that this happened for the first time.
